We’re a small team from the University of Málaga (UMA) in southern Spain, brought together by a shared passion for cybersecurity and a simple idea: the internet should be safer for everyone.

Omnia is an AI-powered platform for cybersecurity, designed for all kinds of users. Analysts can dive deep into malware investigations, while everyday users can get clear, jargon-free answers to their questions. At its core, Omnia works like a chat, but one that can also handle tools, assist with research, and adapt to whatever level of expertise you bring.

Beyond that, Omnia is a place to create and share. Users can publish advanced prompts, workflows, knowledge bases, and intelligent agents, all with the flexibility to use different AI models. It’s a collaborative space where experts and curious minds learn, experiment, and contribute to making the internet safer together.

This project was born within the UMA & Google Cybersecurity Chair. Our team first connected while studying the postgraduate program in Reverse Engineering and Malware Intelligence, an intensive, hands-on course co-directed by our mentor at Omnia, Bernardo Quintero (founder of VirusTotal). Alongside him, Víctor Álvarez (creator of YARA) and other members of the VirusTotal team also teach in the program, shaping not only technical skills but a philosophy: cybersecurity gets stronger when knowledge is shared, when it’s treated as a community, not a fortress.

We sometimes joke about being the “Málaga Basement Team” (MBT), because the course where we met, and where Omnia first took shape, was taught in the training room tucked away in the basement of Google Málaga. Humble beginnings, but the right place to start.

The University of Málaga has also launched Spain’s first Bachelor’s Degree that combines Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, a clear sign of its long-term commitment to both fields. Omnia is just a small way we’re contributing to that ecosystem: applying what we’ve learned, building with purpose, and making a difference from the ground up.

And we don’t want to do it alone. We welcome security vendors, researchers, and partners to bring their tools, ideas, and knowledge into Omnia. Together we can build something more useful for the community and make the internet a little safer.
